Seton’s second Habitat for Humanity build continued with our fourteenth build day on March 4
th. Since Seton’s last workday on February 18th, a lot of progress has been made on the duplex. This progress includes: spraying foam insulation on the interior of the exterior walls and the inside of the roof, applying the first coat of paint on the siding and soffits, and sheetrocking the inside walls and preparing them for painting.
The primary work on the 4th consisted of applying the first coat of paint on some of the siding and applying a second coat of paint on all the siding and soffits. The choice of color on the duplex by the future owners (Bobbie and Carmen) was blue. Needless to say, there was blue paint on things and people, besides where it belonged.
Seton has an off build day on March 11th and our next scheduled build day is March 18
th. There is still a lot to do on the house and Habitat for South Collin County (H-SCC) is in the process of assigning additional build dates; therefore, please check the on-line sign-up sheet during the week. Sometimes there are changes (people cancel, H-SCC requires additional volunteers, or additional work dates added) that require Seton to modify its scheduling requirements.
In addition to the Seton volunteers who helped on the build day, the Seton Habitat Team wants to thank the following for their food and drinks:
A parishioner provided a great lunch of sandwiches and chips.
Starbucks on 15th Street provided the morning coffee and snacks.
We are still in need of lunches for future build dates; therefore, if you (individual or business) are interested in donating food/lunches/drinks during the build, please contact Jessica Vieira at
Jessica.vieira@acpen.com.
Go by and look at the project at 1133 G Avenue in East Plano (down the street from the Douglass Community Center). It will surely inspire you to join us!
