The Lord taught the disciples not to stay where they were not welcomed. The Lord said, “Shake the dust from your feet.” The Good Lord does not want us to spend time with people who are not open to the Word that we have to share. We are not to condemn other people, but rather to spend our time positively. The Lord did not call us to controversialists. He called us to be disciples, servants, and evangelists. We are to remain positive and keep moving forward to find those who do want to hear and live the message that has been revealed. The expression regarding shaking the dust from our “feet” gives the impression that we are to move quickly and not lose time in spreading the message Christ has given us.
Reflection Questions:
Why would the Lord tell his disciples to keep moving onward if they are not welcomed?
Should they not stay and debate with the people they meet?
