Seton Habitat Build Update #16 – Dedication Postponed and Second Collection
The Dedication of the second house sponsored by the Seton Habitat Team was scheduled for last Sunday, June 4
th. It was postponed because of the rain we received last weekend. It has not yet been rescheduled, but once it has, the new date and time will be announced in the bulletin, at masses, and on the Seton website. The postponement will allow some of the unfinished outside work (landscaping, retaining wall and backfilling of the wall, sidewalk and parking pads) to be completed prior to the Dedication.
The second collection this weekend (June 10
th and 11
th) will be for Habitat. There will also be Habitat information booths outside of Church before and after the Masses. Please stop by to ask questions about the Seton Habitat Team, join the Team if you want to be more involved, or obtain other information.
The funds contributed during the second collection will be used to support our third build, which will begin following the Dedication. Construction of the third build will follow in twelve to eighteen months depending on how long it takes to raise the funds for materials needed. A house requires approximately $75,000 for materials. This is usually a combination of cash and in-kind donations such as a roof, HVAC, cabinetry, etc. donated by parishioners. We will provide additional information and updates about our third build process.
If you (individual parishioner or business) are interested in donating coffee, lunches or drinks for volunteers during future builds, please contact Jessica Vieira at
Jessica.vieira@acpen.com.
