Asuncíon Agustines Acosta, M.D. of Plano, Texas passed away November 14, 2020 at the age of 78. She was born on April 7, 1943 to Arturo and Estela Agustines in the Philippines. Asuncíon married Eduardo G. Acosta on April 4, 1971 in the Philippines. She was a dedicated physician. She finished B.S. Hygiene at the University of the Philippines; her Medical Degree at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center both in the Philippines; Residency in Internal Medicine at French and Polyclinic Hospital in New York City; Clinical Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Granville C. Morton Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Asuncíon has been in practice of Internal Medicine and General Practice Richardson, Texas and Princeton, Texas since 1978. She realized a lifelong dream by establishing the Villa Asuncíon Independent and Assisted Living Center in Princeton, Texas in 1998.
Asuncíon was active in the Filipino community and she served as President of the North Texas Association of Philippine Physicians two times. Asuncíon was a member of the Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Association.
Asuncíon is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Eduardo Acosta of Fairview, Texas; sister, Edna; nephews, Jayjay, Tonton, and Edward; niece, Nona including their spouses; precious pets, Elvis, Katrina, Ike, and Bong Bong; numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
