It is always difficult to say goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Esperanza Medina Mazutti (Dallas, TX), who passed away on June 28, 2021 at her home in Plano, Texas, surrounded by her family. Esperanza was born in Zumpango, Estado de Mexico and began her adventure of seeing the world as the wife of Fernando Medina, Staff Sergeant in the US Army. Her journey took her to Chinon, France, Tacoma, Washington, Manheim, Germany, San Antonio, Texas, San Clemente, California and finally Plano, Texas.
Esperanza had many terms of endearment including Tia Ancho to her enormous Mazutti family in Mexico and Nona to her grandchildren and family in the United States. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and dedicated much of golden years to travel. She was an exceptional force in the kitchen and held family recipes extremely close to the chest. Her most cherished accomplishments were her four children, all who were incredibly involved in her day to day life. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren. She was extremely proud of their accomplishments and activities and would often be found in the stands or the audience of their latest performance. Esperanza was known for her kind heart, generosity, hugs, and her champion of all people. In her 93 years of life she witnessed many life events and used her time and experience to encourage other to live their best lives. She was a faithful soul who made pilgrimages to her patron saint Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Basilica in Mexico City.
Esperanza is survived by her children Victor Medina (Susan Medina), Catharine Medina, Angela Medina Discher (Bill Discher), grandchildren, Jordana and Bianca Discher, Arman and Breno Medina, and Siena Medina, and many beloved family and friends around the world. Esperanza is preceded in death by her son Fred Anthony Medina and husband Fernando Medina.

June 13, 1962 – March 17, 2021
Passed away on March 17, 2021. Fred was born in Chinon, France on June 13, 1962. Most of his formative years were spent in San Antonio, TX with summers spent in Mexico City with family there. He graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Fred was an accomplished senior executive in media, entertainment, and technology having worked for Coca Cola, Univision, Ericsson, HBO Latin America, A+E Networks Latin America, E! Networks and BBC Latin America. At the time of his death, he was the principal of the media marketing consulting firm Redline Advisors and served the community as a child advocate at the Miami-Dade Guardian ad Litem Program.
He was a kind, thoughtful, and intelligent man who loved his children, mother, family, and friends deeply. Fred was a car enthusiast and was passionate about cycling.
Fred is survived by his sons Arman and Breno Medina, his siblings Victor Medina (Susan Medina), Angela Discher (Bill Discher), Catharine Medina, nieces Jordana and Bianca Discher and Siena Medina, and many beloved family and friends around the world. Fred is preceded in death by his father Fernando Medina.
