Julia Aiken, 84, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on May 10th, 1941, in Houston, Texas, Julia was an active member of her church, her children’s extracurricular activities, and the family business.
She spent many years building the family business, Record Town, into a successful enterprise. Outside of work, Julia was an accomplished seamstress and cherished time spent with her church community and many friends. Julia was a great animal lover, especially her beloved long-haired dachshunds. She was an avid gardener and spent hours tending to her yard and plants. Julia was an avid outdoorsman even leading her sons’ Explorer Scout troop on many adventures. She taught her children and their friends how to canoe and kayak. She was an involved parent, camping and traveling with her children whenever she could.
Julia is survived by her children, Sabrina Izbrand, her husband David Izbrand, their children Erin and Mark; Clay Peebles, his wife Mary, their children Rachael, Alex, and Calvin; Kyle Peebles, and his children Desi and Quinn. Additionally, she is survived by grandchildren Tiffany Guerra and Josh Laubach, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents, Percy Fred Aiken and Ola Lottie Arnold, her daughter, Julia Ann Peebles Laubach, and her grandson, Christopher Francis Izbrand.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9th, at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Plano, Texas, where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate her life. A reception will follow at the home of Clay and Mary Peebles.
