Steven "Steve" Dale Thompson, 58, of Parker passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021. He was born on May 19, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to Jimmy Thompson and Peggy Thompson. He was a graduate of Berkner High School, Class of 1981. Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 1985 from Texas A&M University and his master’s degree in Computer Science in 1991 from the University of Texas at Dallas. He enjoyed his work as a software engineer at various companies in the Dallas area, most recently at L3Harris Technologies.

Steve was kind, humble, faithful, and selfless. He was a wonderful husband and father, who sought every opportunity to help friends and family in any way he could. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family (usually watching movies or soccer), making dad jokes, and trying to fix things using YouTube videos.

Steve is survived by his wife, Laurie Thompson; his kids, Meg Thompson, Katie Thompson, and Joey Thompson; his father, Jimmy Thompson; his mother, Peggy Thompson; his brothers, Richard Thompson and Gary Thompson; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who he cared for very much.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 28, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 Spring Creek Parkway in Plano, Texas.
