Saturday August 22nd was another workday on the 2020 Habitat recycle house in the Douglass Community in east Plano. Prior to our workday, gutters were installed on the house. The outside of the house, with all the improvements, really looks great.
We had another good showing of crew chiefs and volunteers on the build, which helped us get a lot done. This included:
Putting up outside light fixtures and changing out the electrical outlets.
Continuing to put up the wood casing around the door frames.
Cutting and nailing the baseboards around the perimeter of the rooms.
Assembling the cabinets for the house.
Setting posts for an exterior gate.
Puttying the nail holes in the baseboards and door casings.
We got the word from Habitat for Humanity of Collin County that they are shooting for a mid-to-late September dedication. We will keep you posted as we get closer to the dedication date.
