We are actively praying and discerning as to what the spring game plan might look like concerning faith formation sessions, 1st Communion, Confirmation, etc. There are many meetings taking place down at the Diocese and in our own parish. Once we know more, we will let you know as soon as possible. All of this can be sad and scary at the same time. However, there is always a silver lining and in this case, it could be a true life changer. Please hear me out...
In my 23 years of full-time ministry, I would say the biggest challenge by far has been our frenetic pace of life. You have probably heard me mention this in our parent meetings. So many of us have been stressed out, burned out, worn out and exhausted. We can get lost in the busyness of life and have a hard time finding true north with all the noise and constant running.
Even though the days ahead are very challenging, they also provide a golden opportunity to pray and figure out what matters most in life. This is our chance to re-connect with our families, re-evaluate and re-prioritize our life. We want to do everything we can to support you in that process. It all starts with your own faith journey.
More than any other Lenten season, It is imperative that we return to God with all of our heart. It is only through God's grace and strength that we will be able to find peace in the midst of chaos. Together, let's seize this opportunity to be led by the Holy Spirit down the path that leads to joy and fulfillment.
My wife, kids and I have been praying more as a family than ever before. I work for the church and my son is a seminarian - you would think we would have had this down by now - ha,ha. This has brought us to our knees like nothing before and I am already starting to see the fruits of this in our own spiritual lives as well as us growing closer as a family!
We will be reaching out with videos, articles, tips, updates etc. in the coming days, but I just wanted to start by saying how much we appreciate you and are actively praying for you and your loved ones. May God bless you and keep you safe!
