Seton’s second Habitat for Humanity build continued with our fifteenth build day on March 18
th. The primary work on the 18th consisted of painting areas that needed a second coat of white paint on the trim and painting some of the exterior doors. In addition, the volunteers started to install shelving in the closets, and putting up trim/molding around the perimeter of the interior doors. (Tip of the day – before installing the trim be sure to test that the door closes properly first. If not, rehang the door first then install the trim.)
We are waiting to hear from Habitat for South Collin County (H-SCC) to let us know about our next build day(s) as there is still a lot of interior work to be done on the duplex. Therefore, please check the on-line sign-up sheet during the week for additional work day(s) and changes to Seton’s scheduled work days.
In addition to the Seton volunteers who helped on the build day, the Seton Habitat Team wants to thank the following for their food and drinks:
Rita Richards brought donuts to start the morning.
Starbucks at Alma and 15th Street (near the Barnes and Noble) provided the morning coffee.
The family and friends of Matt Heil provided a great lunch of beef brisket and sides of potato salad and baked beans.
We are still in need of lunches for future build dates; therefore, if you (individual or business) are interested in donating food/lunches/drinks during the build, please contact Jessica Vieira at
Jessica.vieira@acpen.com.
Go by and look at the project at 1133 G Avenue in East Plano (down the street from the Douglass Community Center). It will surely inspire you to join us!
