Just a short update on the status of the build. Habitat for South Collin County is working on completing some of the outside projects on the duplex. This includes building the retaining wall, and preparing the grounds for the pouring of concrete for the sidewalk and parking pads. (See the pictures below.) They can begin on the landscaping, once this has been completed.
The Seton Habitat Team mentioned a few weeks ago that the Dedication of this second house had been postponed. It has not yet been rescheduled, but once it has, the new date and time will be announced in the bulletin, at masses, and on the Seton website.
We want to thank all those who contributed to the Habitat second collection a couple of weeks ago. These funds will be used to support our third build, which will begin after the Dedication. Construction of the third build will follow in twelve to eighteen months depending on how long it takes to raise the funds for materials needed. A house requires approximately $75,000 for materials. This is usually a combination of cash and in-kind donations such as a roof, HVAC, cabinetry, etc. donated by parishioners. We will provide additional information and updates about our third build process.
If you (individual parishioner or business) are interested in donating coffee, lunches or drinks for volunteers during future builds, please contact Jessica Vieira at
