The Diocese of Dallas has released a decree outlining the way in which its 77 churches will incrementally open to welcome back the 1.3 million Catholics in the 9 counties it serves. The Diocese of Dallas will begin the process of opening in phases, allowing for the ability to re-evaluate the process as necessary in order to ensure the health and safety of the community. This process will occur in four phases, with each phase building upon the last.
Announcement from the Bishop expected soon on how to slowly open again. This week's updates include Lovepacs Drive By Food Drive results, meeting with Project Manager and Building Committee will take place virtually on May 16th, Gala postponed until next year.
The difficult moments of life often help us clarify what is really important to us. It causes us not to be so busy as to take everything for granted, but rather to slow down and evaluate what really matters. Reminders: Masses are livestreamed Saturdays at 6:00pm - Lovepacs Drive By Food Drive - Colubarium will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-5pm for visitation and prayer.
During these days of isolation, we are reaching out to the faithful of the Diocese of Dallas in ways that respect the government orders of “distancing“ so that together we can minimize the damage caused by the Coronavirus. As your Shepherd, I am working with the priests, deacons and ministers in the Diocese of Dallas, to keep you spiritually nourished and your faith strong. I invite you to visit our website at www.cathdal.org to find numerous resources for prayer, Scripture, reflections and liturgy.
Thanks to all of you that joined us virtually for our Holy Week Liturgies. We heard many wonderful comments and it is important to pray with one another. Because of this, we will be doing the same for our Saturday evening Vigil Masses each week at 6:00 p.m. We will also be live streaming a special Holy Hour for Divine Mercy this Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
I pray that the celebration of the mysteries of our faith will deepen in our hearts at this Holy Season of Easter. Even though we are separated physically, we remain one in the Risen Christ!
We miss sharing the Sacraments with you and enjoying our normal fellowship as a parish family, especially as we begin this Holy Season. Parish campuses will not be publicly celebrating sacraments or providing gatherings of the faithful until April 30th, or until further notice. These guidelines are given out of charity and concern, that the members of our community are kept safe. Please continue to pray, fast and support those in need. It is times like this when our faith is needed more than ever
