Mary M. Smith
November 6, 1961 - November 1, 2018
Mary M. Smith was born November 6, 1961 in Bellevue, Ohio to parents Isidore and Mary (Feld) Shank. She passed away November 1, 2018 in Carrollton, Texas.
Mary was born in northern Ohio as the eldest of 6 siblings. She graduated in May 1980 from Tiffin Calvert Catholic High School. In May 1985, she married her husband, Norm, and so began 33 wonderful years they shared together. The first four years were in the role of Navy wife which is challenging on the good days. In June 1989, Mary and her family moved to Plano where she continued her life’s work as a loving supportive mother and volunteer extraordinaire.
Some of her volunteer positions included over 20 years as faith formation instructor at St Elizabeth Ann Seton, teaching at Seton’s Ark preschool for several years, working with Seton VBS program including two years as co-director, Christie Elementary School PTO member/officer including two years as president, Plano Sports Authority youth cheerleading coach for 5+ years, and most recently, helping with the RCIA program at Seton. She, however, would be most proud of the 10+ years she spent volunteering with the CPLC Youth for Life programs, especially helping with the pro-life boot camps each summer.
Despite her busy schedule as Mom and volunteer, she went back to college and in Dec 2007 graduated Magna Cum Laude from UNT with a BS degree in Elementary education. She worked several years as a short- and long-term substitute teacher before stepping away from that to focus on running her own small business.
Mary was an exuberant football fan cheering on her beloved Pittsburg Steelers (6 rings), the Blue and Gold of Navy (Beat Army!), and more recently, the Aggies (Whoop!). One of the threads that ran through her entire life was a love of all things crafty which started as a young girl crocheting and sewing Barbie doll clothes and through the years included crocheting various items, various painting styles, many projects for (and with) the girls and the grandkids and most recently involved doing vinyl designs as gifts.
Her family especially remembers the joy and love that Mary put into the traditions of life. Birthdays must be celebrated properly! Thanksgiving was her personal favorite holiday (food, family, football, & shopping). Christmas was her yearly triumph as she always made this a magical time of year steeped in traditions for her family.
Mary was always a beautiful faith-filled wife, mother, and friend who encouraged those around her through her words, actions and the example she set. May she now rest in God’s eternal peace.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Norman Smith; daughters Megan Kuo and her husband Stephen, Mary Magdalene Brown and her husband Ryan and Kathleen Smith; grandchildren David, Clare, and John Kuo, Anna, Andrew and Philip Brown; brother Isidore Shank and his wife Jennifer and four additional siblings and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and two daughters, Rebecca Leigh and Bernadette Gertrude.
A vigil service will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. with visitation following at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023. A Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 9, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with The Reverend Bruce Bradley officiating.
There will be a reception to follow the mass in the parish hall. Mary will be laid to rest later in the columbarium at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary’s name to either of these charities. Joan Ann Walsh
JULY 5, 1937 – SEPTEMBER 30, 2018
Joan Ann Walsh, age 81, of Plano, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Joan was born Monday, July 5, 1937 in Maspeth, New York, the youngest daughter of Marie (Fitz) McMahon and John McMahon.
Joan grew up in Ridgewood, Long Island, New York. She was always very happy person. Growing up and throughout her life, she loved to sing. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1955. She grew up Roman Catholic and at the time of passing was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Plano, Texas.
Joan worked as a customer service representative for New York Telephone as a young woman from 1955-1960, then later Southwestern Bell which later became AT&T from 1979-2002. She retired from AT&T.

This brought them the addition of a wonderful daughter-in-law, Shelley and wonderful son-in-laws, John and Jonathan, which in turn blessed them with five amazing grandchildren, Christopher Aragon, Kaitlyn Brooks, Ryan Wallace, Kristen Wallace, Cassidy Aragon. When Joan's children came home from school as little kids, she would often tell them they had a special visitor; she didn’t know their name, but she could describe them. For Karen and Maureen, it would be a prince on a white horse. For Bobby, it was an English nanny that came down from the sky with an umbrella. She would sign all of the notes to them as “Mommy Joan Walsh”.
Joan had her favorites like, old classic movies and popular music from her generation. Her favorite singer was Barbra Streisand. She could do an excellent imitation of Barbra Streisand singing. Brian Graham Luyt
June 30, 1945 - September 25, 2018
After a 7-month battle with pancreatic cancer, Brian Graham Luyt passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 25, 2018.
Brian was born June 30, 1945, in South Africa to Margaret Masson Luyt and Cicero Michael Luyt. The family immigrated to the United States when Brian was two years old and resided in Southern California where Brian graduated valedictorian from Narbonne High School in Lomita. He attended UCLA where he completed undergraduate studies in mathematics in 1967 followed by The University of California at Berkeley completing graduate studies in mathematics.
In 1972, he began work for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in San Francisco as a systems engineer on a project developing California’s first Title XIX claims system, Medi-Cal. He was soon recruited and moved to Dallas to be part of EDS’ original software team, where he wrote several utilities that were used by systems engineers throughout the company and for years he supported EDS’ proprietary Online System (OLS) which ran in all EDS data centers. When EDS signed a number of Title XIX accounts, Brian worked nearly two years in California on the implementation team for five states. In the early 1980s, he implemented and supported EDS’ Medicare systems before moving from Dallas to Michigan in 1984 when General Motors purchased EDS. There he held several positions including Regional Manager of the Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac (BOC) data centers when he was asked to develop and expand the EDS Network (EDSNET). In 1991, he returned to Plano as President of EDS’ Field Services Division. Brian was a loyal employee at EDS for over 27 years retiring in 1999 as a well-respected leader and friend.
During his children’s younger years, Brian coached or helped coach soccer, baseball and basketball teams. When he retired from EDS, he dedicated his life to service in various volunteer organizations including the Jasper High School Band Boosters where he served as volunteer coordinator and president; the Plano Senior High School Quarterback Club where he helped sell booster merchandise and set up stadium pennants for game night; the CdLS Foundation where he served on the board for six years, ran an annual golf tournament, served on the Conference Planning Committee for over 15 years and twice was a local point person for the national conferences held in Dallas; and, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton where for a number of years he provided rides through the church’s Meals and Rides Ministry.
With retirement also came the opportunity for Brian to spend his free time doing what he loved: traveling, golfing, and spending time at Flathead Lake in Montana. He enjoyed traveling the world and had the opportunity to visit much of the U.S. as well as parts of Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Most of all, he loved being on “lake time” in Montana. Some of our most cherished memories have been made at the lake house where we spent many summers together. There he was able to be outdoors, work on household projects, play golf every day, spend time with family, and entertain company. He was the best boat driver for the water skiers and tubers, and he wasn’t afraid to jump in and try those things himself. He always remained young at heart and was never afraid to endure an epic wipeout.
Brian (a.k.a. Daddio/G-Pa) was a loving family man, a faithful friend, and a generous giver of his time, talents and resources. Brian shared his love for math with his children and grandchildren and was often known to bring mathematical concepts into conversations turning them into “learning opportunities.” He also loved card games and board games of all kinds and always looked forward to gatherings around the table to play. Friendly competition was the name of the game, even when it came to decorating Christmas cookies and Easter eggs. Detailed in his approach, he always gave the rest of us a run for our money. Without question, his beloved UCLA Bruins were always represented in any project.
As a sports enthusiast, Brian spent his free time watching sports of all kinds, especially football and golf. Along with his UCLA Bruins, the Dallas Cowboys held his allegiance. Many special memories have been made attending Cowboy games together through the years, and football-watching parties were common practice in his home. He would readily cheer for the alma maters of his children unless they were playing his cherished Bruins. In those cases, all bets were off, and it was every man for himself. In addition to football, golf has always held a special place in his heart. He loved watching the tournaments on TV, and he played regularly with his buddies, Bill, Sam, and Terry. Although he didn’t have the perfect game, he loved being on the course. He seemed to always be in competition with himself trying to better his driving distance, his putting accuracy, and his score. In fact, the last time he played, he hit a drive to establish his new personal record. What a sweet gift!
Music also played an important role in Brian’s life. He taught himself to play the guitar and enjoyed serenading the family in the living room at home or around a campfire at the lake in Montana. Sharing his love for folk songs and the “oldies but goodies,” left a lasting impression on his children.
Brian was predeceased by his parents and granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Sorge. He is survived by his wife, Mary Opitz; children, Lisa Dula (Tim), of Plano, Texas, Greg Luyt (Stephie), of Traverse City, Michigan, Amy Sorge (Matt), of Dallas, Texas, Katherine “Katie” Luyt, of Plano, Texas and Bradley Luyt, of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew and Kristin Dula, Grady, Emery and Theo Luyt; brother, Howard Luyt and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Robert Lorenc
October 26, 1939 - August 11, 2018
Robert (Bob) Lorenc was born October 26, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Edward and Alvina (Krepel) Lorenc. He grew up and attended school in Lockport, Illinois. He was a talented musician who played several instruments including folk and electric guitars, banjo, ukulele, drums, electronic keyboards, the organ and harmonica. He played in bands called The Pole Cats and The Casuals in his late teens and early 20’s. He met his wife Mari at a dance in Lockport and they married in March of 1962. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1962 and was deployed to Vietnam. In the army he was trained to become a master photographer. He took and developed many interesting photos which documented the history of army life in Vietnam during the war. When he returned home after serving, he used his photography skills to take many photos of his wife and daughter Lisa, who was born while he was serving in Vietnam.
The family was based in Yuma, Arizona until Bob was discharged from the Army in 1967. Son Christopher was born there in 1965. They moved back to Illinois to be close to family and Bob began a career in the grocery business. He worked as a produce clerk or manger in many different grocery stores over the years and at one time owned and operated a 7-11 convenience store. Wife Mari became a real estate agent and invested in several properties which Bob often remodeled and prepared for rental or sale.
Bob enjoyed fishing, playing music, family get-togethers, and handy work. His large family of aunts and uncles had summer picnics and reunions that were always fun. He also loved spending time with Mari’s parents, Grandma and Grandpa Taylor, traveling to Southern Illinois to fish and ride horses near their country home. Mari’s brothers and their families often came over for parties and music jam sessions.
Bob was not only gifted musically, but he was artistic in that he like to draw, make crafty items, and build things. He drew cartoon characters, made mini-sculptures out of nails and various metals and built decks, sheds and a gazebo for our yard. Unfortunately, he also liked to spray paint EVERYTHING… including stripes on cars he owned and even the upholstery of his 1980 Pontiac Firebird. You know how many people think you can fix anything with duct tape; he felt the same about spray paint.
The family moved to Texas in 1985. Bob found work at Kroger Food Stores where he was employed until he retired in 2012. During his years in Texas, granddaughters Caroline and Taylor were born. He loved to spend time with them goofing around, playing music and having cookouts and swim parties at home. The family vacationed together in Mexico and Jamaica where we had some of our best times.
He loved his dogs, Soapy, Brandy, “Dog” (yes we had a dog named Dog), Baby, Sammy, and Gi Gi. He enjoyed watching boxing and pro-football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He told corny jokes and liked to do crossword puzzles.

Marie Falgoust Kerutis
November 6, 1939 – July 30, 2018
Marie Lucille Falgoust Kerutis joined her parents, Joseph and Marie Falgoust; her siblings, Joseph, Lydia, Maurice, Ethel, Joanne and Larry; her nephew, Michael and niece, Linda, in the arms of Our Father on July 30, 2018.
It is with great sadness and joy that her husband of 58 years, Peter Joseph Kerutis, Jr., her children, Patricia Joan (Steve Crane), Peter Joseph, III, Patrick James (Nancy), Paul Jacque and Prescott Jason (Heather) and grandchildren, Prescott, Jr., Lexie, Quinn, Paul II and Peter, Janice (John Burns) and Morgan (Erik Polcer), great grandchildren, Jessica, Devon, Billy, Logan, Emma and Jaidyn and great-great grandchild Annalee said “goodbye” and are mourning the loss of a wife, mother and grandmother who was their constant stabilizer, comforter and supporter.
Marie, also known as “Moutsie”, was born the youngest of seven (7) children on November 6, 1939. She was a spoiled brat until the day she peacefully fell asleep for the final time. She was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and faithfully remained a Saints and LSU Tigers fan. She met Pete while he was serving in the Coast Guard in New Orleans. They married on June 18, 1960. They were blessed with five beautiful children who they ruled with an iron fist, but who never wanted for a thing.
Marie supported her husband as they moved from her beloved family in New Orleans to Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and finally to Texas where they resided for almost 44 years. They made wonderful friends along the way and Marie was truly adored by many. She was loyal; spoke her mind and never allowed nonsense to get in her way or that of her husband or children. She accepted all that walked through her door as if they were family and made them feel welcome. Her home was always where everyone wanted to hang out.
At 78-years-old she could dance circles around anyone until a fall in May. As a wonderful friend stated, she is now dancing with the Saints in heaven.
Left to miss her are her treasured sister, Agnes Lotz; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Falgoust; 23 nieces and nephews; 41 great nieces and nephews and 25 great-great nieces and nephews. And no one enjoyed Family Reunions like Aunt Moutsie! Among those were her Godchildren, Frank Bevinetto, Elaine Rosiere Laviolette, David Lotz and Jean Sherlock Worona.
As a family, we thank each and every person who touched Marie’s life and, therefore, ours. The kindness, understanding, compassion and support extended during a blessed lifetime, especially in her later years of memory loss will forever be appreciated. She loved life and she loved each of you. We ask that in lieu of flowers or even donations, that you continue to be kind and accepting to those around you, as you were to Marie.
With love and sincere thanks for being a part of the Kerutis Family.
We will celebrate Marie's life with the funeral Mass on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10:30am in the church followed by Interment in the Seton Columbarium. Afterwards everyone is invited to the Parish Hall for reception and to share our memories of Marie.
Mary Helen Warren
December 08, 1939 - July 25, 2018
Helen was born and raised in the coal mining community of Ralph, Pennsylvania by her parents Michael and Anna Scerbovsky along with her brothers John and Edward. She graduated from Uniontown High School with the distinction of being part of the homecoming court as well as being voted best dressed. The later award being no surprise to those who knew her. Upon graduation, Helen worked as a bookkeeper in a Uniontown bank. One day while walking to the local drug store for lunch she was followed by a dashing Texan who was working for the United States Department of Agriculture. He sat next to her at the counter and one year later they were married. She spent 18 years traveling the United States with her husband, Wally, all the while raising two daughters, Michele and Stephanie. She embarked on a second career with Sears upon her husband’s death in 1981. Helen quickly climbed up the management ladder with Sears and eventually retired.
It can easily be said that once Helen retired, she was busier than when she worked. She moved from Garland to Plano and quickly became immersed in the church community of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. She worked tirelessly with the Women’s Club as well as spending time with the Prison Ministry and various other church organizations. Helen loved participating in church meetings by bringing her own brand of opening prayer. She worked tirelessly to ensure that the blessings of the day were appropriate to the subject and time of year. Helen also loved participating in Bible Study at church and could often be found sitting at her kitchen counter “studying” for her next meeting. Her hard work and dedication to the church she called her second family was recognized with the distinction of Woman of the Year but her proudest moment was when she became a Eucharistic Minister. Helen was also an avid bridge player as well as a dedicated member of the Plano Garden Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Michele Bartlett and Stephanie Fisher (Brian); grandchildren, Samuel Bartlett, Kaitlyn Bartlett, Ian Bartlett, Kaden Fisher and Kyle Fisher; and great granddaughter, Ever Lee Rogers.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023. Inurnment to follow in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Columbarium.
Helen never let the challenges of her illness get to her. She faced every day and every hurdle with dignity and faith. We are forever grateful to the amazing doctors, nurses, support staff and friends who gave so much of their time to help her navigate her journey.

Maryann Jennifer Ullrich Ahern
April 23, 1959 - July 23, 2018
Maryann Jennifer Ullrich Ahern of Plano, TX, was born April 23, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY, and passed away July 23, 2018 in Sachse, TX. Maryann was the daughter of John and Dorothy Ahern, and had three brothers—John, Brian, and Kenneth—and a sister, Susan. She spent her childhood in Rockville Centre, NY, where she graduated from Saint Agnes High School. There, she developed her tough and fun-loving New Yorker attitude—an attitude she cherished for the rest of her life. She moved to Plano, TX, where she earned a degree in business administration in 1988 at The University of Texas at Dallas.
Maryann was most proud of her four children: Tim, Annie, Katie, and Mikaela. She was a loving mother, friend, and supporter whose memory will be with them always. Her friends and family could always rely on her to be in their corner and to share the burden of life's challenges.
Maryann loved life and rarely stopped smiling. She had an upbeat nature and a contagious excitement, which she enjoyed sharing with others. If she had it her way (which she usually did), her remaining years would have been spent suntanning on the beach and supporting country music.
Maryann is survived by her children: Tim Ullrich, Annie Northcutt, Katie Ullrich, Mikaela Kubes; and family members Tim Ullrich, Dennis Kubes, Susan Ahern, John Ahern, and Kenneth Ahern.
Maryann's life will be celebrated with the Funeral Mass on July 27, 2018 at 10:30am in the church. Reception will follow in the Parish Hall next to the church.

He was born on April 1, 1936 in Catskill, NY, the oldest of five boys, to Ann (nee Brennan) and Ernest J. Martin, Sr.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents, as well as his younger brothers Barry, Richard, Roland, and Kevin; his sister-in-law, Gilda Martin; and his son, Gregg Martin.
The patriarch of his family, Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Debbie (nee Arditi), their children Andrew Martin (Colleen) of St. Louis, MO; Melissa French (Michael) of Chicago, IL; Christopher Martin of Dallas, TX, and Timothy Martin of Denver, CO; his daughters Suzanne Martin (Paul Birli) of Millerton, NY and Lynn Martin of Stratford CT; his son Gary Martin (Colleen) of Stormville, NY; sister-in-law Rosemary Martin of Coxsackie, NY; nieces Lisa (Theron) Gunderson and Bridget (Walter) Stevenson, both of Coxsackie, NY; nephews Darrin Martin of San Francisco, CA, and Shawn Martin (Gina) of Coxsackie, NY. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 great-nephews. Ernie will also be missed by his constant companions, Koda, a black lab, and Kush, a Siberian husky.
A graduate of Coxsackie-Athens High School, Ernie lettered in almost every sport, and was the first member of his family to attend college. He graduated from Villanova University in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Economics, and began his publishing/advertising career in New York City with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation in the accounting department of the Reuben H. Donnelley Yellow Pages division. He subsequently held various management positions in other media companies within the D&B Corporation including Moody’s International, cable television in California, and Donnelley Information Publishing. Ernie also served as the Assistant Managing Director for Thompson Locals, headquartered in Farnborough, England, and in that capacity, he represented D&B’s interests in a joint advertising venture.
Returning to the United States, Ernie and his family moved to Redding, CT, while he worked in Purchase, NY for another D&B division. They subsequently moved to Plano, TX when Ernie became President & COO of For Rent Magazine, a nationally-expanding apartment guide. It was then that he became active in the National Apartment Association, and in 2013 he was awarded their Lifetime Achievement Award to recognize his many contributions to the apartment industry. Ernie retired from For Rent in 2001 after a successful career that spanned over 44 years in multiple companies and in multiple executive positions.
Ernie often said he never worked a day in his life because he enjoyed his job, and more importantly, truly loved and appreciated the people who worked with him. To Ernie, everyone was valuable and respected regardless of their positions in the corporate world. He always found the time to talk with people, both personally and professionally, regardless of how busy he was, and was ready to listen and offer support and counsel to those who shared their problems or concerns.
Although his many jobs often required both domestic and international travel, Ernie’s first priority was always his family. He was a familiar face at all the local hockey rinks and supported his children in their passions. A master at rummy and poker, he taught his children the finer points of the games, especially how to bluff! His bigger-than-life personality was evident in everything he did; he loved to dance, was unconditionally devoted to his family both near and far, and always enjoyed a good joke. He will be remembered as a husband and father who handled difficult times with poise and grace, found the humor in every situation, and knew how to celebrate the good things in life including a wonderful meal and a good bottle of wine. To many, Ernie was also a loyal and lifelong friend and, over the years, he continued to attend his high school reunions as long as he was able.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12:00pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Cynthia Jane Ott
February 6, 1947 – May 12, 2018
Cynthia Jane Ott passed away peacefully on May 12, 2018 in the presence of her spouse and adult children after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born February 6, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to parents Col. Walter and Jane (Scott) Cook. Cynde was an amazing daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She grew up as a military dependent and lived in many places including Alabama, Illinois, Virginia, England and San Antonio, Texas, where her father held his last assignment in the Air Force. That's where she met her spouse of 50 years, Bruce Ott, while she was working a summer job at Howard Johnson's.She attended college at Texas Tech University along with her then fiancee, Bruce. After they graduated, Bruce was commissioned into the Air Force and the couple lived in Lubbock, TX, Sacramento, CA, and Phoenix, AZ, before settling in Plano, TX, when her husband started a career as a pilot at American Airlines in 1978.
Cynde quickly became involved in her church, St Elizabeth Ann Seton in Plano. She was on the bereavement committee, facilitated bible studies and retreats but her most recognized accomplishment was introducing and starting MOMS (Ministry of Mothers Sharing) in the Dallas Diocese. MOMS (Ministry of Mothers Sharing) was such an integral part of Cynde's life. She provided training to a core group of women at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, in Plano and went out to other parishes to help train women to become MOMS facilitators. This movement began a ripple effect that helped countless women throughout the Diocese to foster a deeper Christian commitment to their marriages and families. Furthermore, MOMS provided a support system for women. Cynde worked tirelessly and selflessly in her endeavors to see the continued spread of this Ministry. She was instrumental in facilitating growth in the faith journey of many individuals.
Cynde was also a Eucharistic Minister at St Elizabeth Ann Seton. Cynde was a member of a Red Hat group that had its start in 2004. Long after the group discarded the hats, they stayed together as the Scarlet Heart Sisterhood. Meeting monthly, the women fostered a spirit of fun and fellowship with one another. Bowling was also a longtime passion for Cynde. Participation in the Plano Super Bowl Thursday Girls League was something she truly enjoyed. Her teammates kept her coming until four years ago at which time her Alzheimer's prevented her from participating any longer.
Cynde's greatest joy in life was her family. She adored being a wife and took great pride in her marriage. She blessed and adored her three children, their spouses and eight grandchildren. One of the highlights of each year was when she and her husband would accompany the grandchildren on an annual summer "Big Kid Trip". When Cynde wasn't giving tirelessly to her family and her church she was managing her husband's homebuilding and gardening businesses. She spent her early years in Plano working at the library and continued to do so as a volunteer when her children were in school. She also volunteered as a leader with her children's scouting. Cynde was frequently referred to as "St Cynde" because of her love, kindness, and desire to give selflessly to others. She fought Alzheimer's valiantly with her husband Bruce, who was her caregiver. They traveled the world for as long as Cynde was able. They spent the last 10 years visiting places such as the British Isles, Baltic Sea, Rome, Mediterranean, Caribbean Sea, Alaska and, more importantly, trips to visit her family. The most beautiful gift Cynde gave to the world was her devout and never-ending faith. She was an inspiration for all whose lives she touched and will be missed everyone that knew her.
Cynde is survived by her husband Bruce Ott, children Jennifer Cushman and her husband Paul, Dennis Ott and his wife Shannon, Christopher Ott and his wife Ashley, grandchildren Allison, Andrew, Stewart, Madison, Adella, Lilibeth, Vaughn, Avery and another grandson on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Carol Cook, Thomas Cook and Allison Cook.

Charles William Walter
July 21, 1940 – April 11, 2018
Charles William Walter, 77, of Plano, TX peacefully passed away at home on April 11, 2018 and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Charles was born on July 21, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to Herman and Elizabeth Walter. “Charlie,” as he was known to his friends, was the eldest of four siblings. We suspect this is probably where he honed his wicked sense of humor. Charlie loved learning. He graduated from St. Nicholas High School with honors, earning a full scholarship to King’s College. He later went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy where he first discovered his love of computers (and a pretty strawberry blond named Barbara, who would eventually become his wife). Charlie worked as a Systems Analyst at Eastern Airlines where he collaborated on several top secret projects, in partnership with NASA, resulting in the development of technology that is still in use today.
Charlie was always ready for the next challenge which took him and his family from Pennsylvania, to New York, North Carolina, Florida, and ultimately Texas, making life-long friends along the way. Charlie believed you should take time and enjoy life but he was never one to sit still for very long. In retirement, he held the CEO position at a few companies and sat on the Board of Directors for several others. Anyone who knew Charlie knew he had two loves: his family and the church. Charlie was fiercely proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandson, and was a devoted man of faith. Charlie was extremely involved in his church and held the Fourth Degree designation with the Knights of Columbus, an organization with which he had been active for over 50 years. One of the accomplishments he was most proud of was managing the building project for Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. Charlie always believed in giving back and always thought he could make a difference.
Charles was preceded in death by Barbara Walter, his loving wife of 30 years. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Daye and her husband Alex; his son, Richard Walter and his wife Cindy; his two grandchildren, Ryan Walter and Courtney Walter; and his great-grandson, Troy Walter. His is also survived by his two sisters, Betsy Peters, Carolyn Klimek and her husband Edwin; and his brother, Paul Walter and his wife Maureen.
A Rosary will take place at 10:30am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am on Monday, April 30th at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75023.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do an act of kindness in Charlie’s name, spend some quality time with your loved ones, and remember him well.

Ellen Cluck
May 16, 1935 - January 09, 2018
Frances Ellen Cluck was born May 16, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to parents George Coleman and Marie Catherine (Guest) Boylson. She has always been best known as Ellen. She went to be with her Lord on January 9, 2018 in Allen, Texas.
Ellen was raised in Texas along with her 9 sisters and 4 brothers. She was the eighth in line, and enjoyed spending time with her older siblings and being in charge of the younger ones.
In 1957 she met Jimmy Cluck, and they were married in 1959. Jimmy introduced her to Navy life and that took them away from Texas to California, Idaho, and Virginia. Wanting to start a family, and to be near extended family, they moved back to Texas after Jimmy’s service was complete. Business careers, and their early retirement, kept them in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. During that time, they had their daughter Cathy and adopted their son Douglas.
Ellen loved being Grandma to her 4 Grandchildren, Andrew, Alec, Austin and Cheyenne. She watched them do things such as graduate high school, join the Army, join the Air Force, become a police officer, become a black belt, sing in choir, grow up, and start families of their own. Recently she found room in her heart for her 5 Great Grandchildren: Nikki, Rylie, Oliver, Oliva and Silas. They were a great joy for her.
Not only did she spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren but she had a soft spot for any child. She spent time as a childcare provider, but she did not need to be employed by anyone to take care of any child she happened upon.
Ellen stayed active at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and each Catholic parish where she lived. For the past 22 years, she was active at St. Elizabeth’s as a member of the Rosary Cenacle, RCIA sponsor, Eucharistic Minister and assisted with church linens. Church was always a big part of her life.
She had many friends that she cared deeply for and that cared deeply for her. She made friends wherever she lived, or in whatever she was doing. Her infectious smile seemed to impact all of those around her. And everyone knew that distinctive laugh of hers.
Ellen surely had the heart of a servant. She spent countless hours of her life serving those around her. Whether it was friends, family or through the church she was ready to help. When she heard of a need her first reaction was always “How can I help?”, even if it was a time in her life when she had little. She imparted words of wisdom to her children such as “No matter what our situation may be, there are always those less fortunate so don’t complain”.
A Vigil Service and visitation will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 7:00pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10:00 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 10:00am with Father Bradley officiating. There will be a reception in Parrish Hall immediately following the service. Ellen will be laid to rest with her husband Jimmy in Kingston, Oklahoma.
