Wouldn’t the world be a better place? Our Welcome and Hospitality Committee concentrates on not only the physical act of welcoming, but also the spiritual act. We strive to recognize Christ’s presence in everyone we meet, in every person and family that we welcome. We are committed to community because we know that it is only as a community that we can achieve anything.
Here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, we try to personally welcome every new family that registers. We call them on the phone and offer to bring a packet of information to them. It is very important to us that every person who registers with our parish family knows that they are needed, wanted and vital to our community. When we do not have enough Welcomers, we are not able to personally welcome each new member and must mail a welcome packet.
Welcomers are the people who have generously offered to share their time in helping others to feel welcome. Every Welcomer is trained and receives the full support of staff. If you are outgoing and like to meet new people, we need your help. Ours is a transient and growing community and we average about 800 new families a year! Can you give us just three to four hours a month?
We have a group of volunteers that attend the Hospitality Desk before and after weekend masses. They welcome and greet newcomers and visitors at the doors of the church. answer questions and provide parish registration information.
This team of volunteers plans and participates in annual Newcomer Dinners for new parish members. The evening provides an opportunity to meet other newcomers, staff members, and our priests.
