Each year, as the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons approach we often ask ourselves "What shall I return to the Lord for all that He has given me?” Psalm 116:12. Please consider the following opportunities as you make your end of year plans:
Donations you wish to include for the current tax year must be be submitted by December 31st.
If you have appreciated stock this year, you may realize a tax break through a donation to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Consult your tax advisor for your situation. For donation instructions, please contact Bob Rayner in the Business Office at 972-398-5413 or rrayner@eseton.org.
Gifts must be received by December 31.
Age Increase for Required Minimum Distributions (RMD). If you reached age 70 ½ prior to January 1, 2020, you may direct your RMD to the church and reduce your taxable income. The age for RMDs was raised to 72 years old for those who did not reach 70 1/2 by December 31, 2019.
Gifts received or processed online after December 31 will be included in the following year giving statement. Per IRS requirements, contributions placed in the offering plate beginning January 1, will only qualify for a charitable gift tax deduction for the year in which the check is dated.
